RGD gender expert and trainer completes Doctorate in Gender Studies

The RGD team congratulates Marianna Kolodiy for successfully defending her PhD dissertation. Her paper explored gender in the context of public administration in Ukraine. Specifically, she described issues related to gender identity, gender socialization, gender roles, and sexual identity from a historical, cultural, political, social and psychological point of view.

One of the most devoted gender equality advocates in Ukraine, Marianna has been actively involved with the RGD project for a number of years. Over the next few months, she will be delivering gender and social impact assessment training to a group of 80 civil servants and NGO leaders from 13 regions across Ukraine.  This is part of RGD’s Training-of-Trainers (ToT) Program that is being launched in February 2011. About the project

The Regional Governance and Development (RGD) Project is a seven-year initiative that promotes regional economic development (RED) in Ukraine.
